Social Media Awards. Opening Titles

Brills New Post View the project presentation on behance here.
http://bit.ly/1ekM8Xp

We were asked to create the opening titles for the Social Media Awards Ceremony in Greece. The brief was to create an opening video that will showcase the major award categories, Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Foursquare and Pinterest.

Inspired by the event’s theme for the year, we decided to make a story that felt like a fairy tale and tried to create emotion to the audience using techniques found in classic puppet theater.

Creative Direction: Gregory Papadopoulos
Concept & Direction: Mike Polizos
Art Direction / Illustration / Animation: Mike Polizos
Story-line & Storyboard: Mike Polizos / Manos Kalaitzoglou
Additional Illustrations: Andreas Kalpakides
Sound Design: Nikolas Passaris / Ioannis Giannakopoulos
Account Manager: Leyteris Rousoudis

Enjoy.

Live Social Semantics, part 01

Amazing New Post An overview of the user-facing functionality involved in the Live Social Semantics project, a collaboration between the SocioPatterns project and the University of Southampton partners in the TAGora project.

The Live Social Semantics project integrates real-time face-to-face social interaction detection using active RFID, with linked data from the semantic web, and data for social networking sites. This system was deployed at two conferences during the spring of 2009. This movie includes excerpts from the real-time visualisation during the Hypertext’09 conference and the online social network browsing tool.

Get in Contact – augmented social networking

Awesome New Post „Get in Contact” is a conceptual approach, enhancing face to face communication by adding digital information about us around us via smartphone and AR glasses. Giving people an idea about who we are and what we want to share. A starting point for all sorts of social interaction.

Besides input and computing device for the glasses, the smartphone also serves as an ID for the user carrying it around. Users should be able to rely solely on the information projected on the glasses, to keep the focus on the people instead on their information, which if too complex can be checked on the smartphone itself.

One main feature of “Get in Contact” is the status message, social networks like facebook made popular and frequently used. Short informative updates about ourselves, asking for reactions by others, floating above the users’ heads.

Even people who managed to stay away from social networking sites and prefer regular social interactions could benefit from this kind of system, cause in the end it’s more about getting to know the people around us instead of collecting profiles in the web.
